My name is Jillian Walker.
I’m a passionate, overachieving, girlie girl.
My days are spent working with leaders to become better leaders and working with employees to become their best selves. Officially, I’m a Human Resources Professional. Truth be told though, I like to do things differently. I challenge past history and push people + organizations to grow.
When I break away from my career dreams, I love to give back to the community. I am proud to be involved with Advancing Canadian Entrepreneurship, Junior Chamber International and industry related organizations across Canada.
I am that person who loves to learn. I thrive in a university setting and get joy from reading business books. I love to try new things and will very rarely say no to a challenge. I learn through travel and do everything I can to visit new countries and cultures each year.
I love to be around people and continually center myself with ‘give more than you take.’
My friends are my world.
I blog because I love to write. I can’t write about anything… I write best from my heart.
If I believe in it… if I’m passionate about it… I can write about it.
I never used to write for anyone else, I always wrote for me. Now, the internet is a small place and people read my thoughts. Although this totally terrifies me, I feel that if someone can relate, learn or gain a new perspective through my writing — I’ve done my part.
I’m one of those people that wants to change the world. I haven’t figured out how I’m going to do it yet, but I’m up for the challenge to continually make a difference.
